Sustainable Concrete: ramming earth and carbon capture

Written by Principal Partner Published March 10, 2026

The concrete sector is responsible for approximately 8% of global carbon emissions. To reach carbon-neutral targets, the architecture industry must search for low-carbon material alternatives.

At Amma Arch, we design structures using local low-carbon concrete mixes, incorporating recycled glass aggregates and biophilic binding agents. Additionally, we integrate rammed earth wall details, which provide high thermal mass and excellent insulation.

These materials are not only sustainable but offer beautiful, tactile textures that feel premium and grounded. When paired with smart geothermal venting networks, rammed earth walls can keep interiors cool without active air conditioning.

By combining these materials with active carbon-capture techniques and parametric solar capture, we design living concept spaces that support positive environmental outcomes, setting a new benchmark for sustainable luxury.
